Dear Mr. Rollins,
Your video
has really touched me because I completely agree with all that you have to say.
As you say in your video “Just because you come from nothing you must not let
that be something that holds you back” really reminds me of my family. My 3
cousins their whole lives have grown up with pretty much nothings living in a
trailer or with my family, parents in and out of prison but yet are succeeding
today. My 2 girl cousins live in their own house in Corpus Christie, both have
jobs, and are both taking college classes. While my cousin Trey lives in a
house in Austin with his friends, while selling medical equipment, and taking
classes at ACC. I was able to learn back ground information about your self and
knowing that you didn’t come from such a put together home. You are an
incredible and successful person now. You grew up with split parents and hard
times through out school, but now look where your at. I do strongly believe
that just because you don’t come from money won’t mean that you won’t succeed.
A lot of people that even do come from money end up dropping out of college or
getting into trouble and ruining their lives. When you mentioned “They will get
all the way through High School and never understand where a dollar comes from”
reminds me so much of a good friend of mine. His family is extremely wealthy
and he never has to worry about not having money nor has he ever worked a day
in his life. He even complains about going to school and tells his parents that
he wants to drop out but his parents say they don’t care what he gets a degree
in just as long as he gets one. That’s pretty sad to me to see that they would waste
money on college for him to not really even do anything when others are out
there struggling to pay for college. I love when you say “You can’t let these
people make you feel any way you have been dwarfed or outclassed” because it so
true you can’t let anything or anyone get in the way of you succeeding in your
life. Your video has really touched me and I thank you.
