Shameless TV Series

Shameless
One T.V. show impreticular that is my favorite at the moment is Shameless. Why, you may ask. Well that’s because I know watching the show I am garneted to laugh and am always intrigued. The show involves an extremely poor family where both of the parents aren’t really involved with the children’s lives. There are 6 kids total while the oldest Daughter is basically the caregiver of the family. Every child that can work works they all bust their ass to survive. I don’t wanna give away to much because you have to watch it and fall in love like I did. While watching the show you get emotionally involved with the characters and yet some people may not be able to relate but I know that many can. The show is so much a like the real world and there aren’t many shows that are like this. So many shows now a days wanna show off the rich and famous life style when yet not everyone is like that. A lot of my friends kept talking about Shameless and how I needed to watch it, so I gave in. About 4 weeks ago I started the show and now I have already finished all 6 seasons in a month and am now biting my nails waiting for season 7 to come out. I cant wait to continue watching the seasons and see what more they have to come. I don’t just recommend this show to women I recommend it for men as well. It is truly amazing how the story line is so real but yet is different. I have attached this link for anyone that may now be interested and would like to know a little more about the show before watching this.

First Major Exam

The first exam wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to go. Although I would say I would have rather had multiple choice questions rather than short answer. I do like the short answer because we get to answer in our own words and write down everything we feel answers the question. But for some of the questions I didn’t know how I should answer, that it would have been easier if it was multiple choice. Maybe some of the questions could have been worded differently as well. Some of them were hard to tell what was really expected for some questions. I prepared for the exam by looking over the review looking at what I needed to focus on and went through my note reread them as well as used the textbook. I went back to activities that we had to complete and read over them as well as looked over some of the vocabulary that was in the book and not in the notes. I do feel though that maybe I should have started to study a little early in the week and maybe I would have been even more prepared to answer the short answers a little more. If I wouldn’t have studied at all then I know I would have done poorly but I am confident I did not bomb the exam. I did notice that one of my class mates made a study guide which is smart and maybe something that I can try for next time. All an all I feel for the first exam I was prepared and ready and that I did the best I could with what I had, but I know next time to prepare a little more in advance to fully answer all short answer to potential.

Dear Mr. Rollins,

Your video has really touched me because I completely agree with all that you have to say. As you say in your video “Just because you come from nothing you must not let that be something that holds you back” really reminds me of my family. My 3 cousins their whole lives have grown up with pretty much nothings living in a trailer or with my family, parents in and out of prison but yet are succeeding today. My 2 girl cousins live in their own house in Corpus Christie, both have jobs, and are both taking college classes. While my cousin Trey lives in a house in Austin with his friends, while selling medical equipment, and taking classes at ACC. I was able to learn back ground information about your self and knowing that you didn’t come from such a put together home. You are an incredible and successful person now. You grew up with split parents and hard times through out school, but now look where your at. I do strongly believe that just because you don’t come from money won’t mean that you won’t succeed. A lot of people that even do come from money end up dropping out of college or getting into trouble and ruining their lives. When you mentioned “They will get all the way through High School and never understand where a dollar comes from” reminds me so much of a good friend of mine. His family is extremely wealthy and he never has to worry about not having money nor has he ever worked a day in his life. He even complains about going to school and tells his parents that he wants to drop out but his parents say they don’t care what he gets a degree in just as long as he gets one. That’s pretty sad to me to see that they would waste money on college for him to not really even do anything when others are out there struggling to pay for college. I love when you say “You can’t let these people make you feel any way you have been dwarfed or outclassed” because it so true you can’t let anything or anyone get in the way of you succeeding in your life. Your video has really touched me and I thank you.

Who am I.

Hi, my name is Shelby Simon. I grew up in Katy, TX with my parents and my older sister. I went to school all around Katy because my mom was a teacher and I wanted to be where she taught then once I got older I went to the schools I was zoned too. While I was in high school I had an opportunity my junior and senior year to take some classes at a school named Miller Career and Technology Center. There I was able to take cosmetology classes and be able to earn my permit and somewhat get my license. I had finished the program, but did not get my required hours so I am still having to go back and will go back once I finish college. Cosmetology is a big part of my life because I love the beauty industry, love doing hair and being able to learn and do all these different things. As well as make people feel more beautiful than they did before they walked in. Once I finish school to be a nurse I do hope that I can pursue that for a while, while continuing my cosmetology education. After I have finished the cosmetology and have my nursing as well I hope that I can use both in my life. Work at a hospital for a period of time then maybe one day open my own salon. I like being able to have the cosmetology and nursing under my belt because it always gives me something to fall back one if one doesn’t work out. I believe in myself and believe that the goals I have set for myself that I will be able to meet them in the near future. I hope that I will continue the have my friends and family by my side to support me, encourage me, love me, teach me, and guide me in life when im at a low or even at a high in my life. I have always been able to count on them and I know that I can continue dong the same.
